Here are a few of my favorite things right now…
// My darling friend, Aubrey, from college has AMAZING taste. She has put it to good use and started a company selling felt ball kits. Visit her site, Hello Maypole, and you will be inspired by her happy combinations for projects, parties, house decor, etc. One of my favorite things is that she has a free download for the sweet saying “Let Them Be Little”. It is now my go to gift for baby showers. Print it off on glossy cardstock for 75 cents ($1.50 for 11×14), stick it in a white mat/white frame from TJ Maxx, and wrap it up. Goes well with any nursery decor and the mommy will thank you.
// I just bought this drill and I am in heaven. Actually, my husband is. He just “happily” built a playset in the back yard recently. We have gone through several different drills over the last 14 years being married because we didn’t want to “spend much money”. If I had it to do over again, I would say pick right the first time and just spend the money upfront, because it would have saved us over the long run. I KNOW this drill will last a LONG time. It’s so powerful too. Grrrrr! If you are willing, buy this kit that includes the impact driver. That is next on the list. While you are at it…get this tool. It rocks for those tight spaces.
// My favorite spring sweater is on sale at the Gap right now. Trust me, it rocks. The little detailing on the arms and the lightness of the fabric is all awesome. I have the “daybreak blue”. I wear it often with the “cool olive” maxi dress because it’s such an unexpected, yet fresh, color combination. I’m trying to decide what color I want next.
// Craft and Chat is coming up soon on May 19th. This plywood “If you can be anything, be kind” sign will be the project. Lemonthistle.com gives a great tutorial. It’ll cost only $5 to make for the girls that live by me. Have you started a Craft and Chat yet? What crafts would you like to make?
// Two people I love while growing up in Portland Oregon have recently published a book! They are both about being the best and hardest job on the planet…a Mother. Jessica is a mother of 3 little kids, and Rene is a mother of 6, one having Cerebral Palsy. I can’t wait to read these amazing women’s perspective on motherhood, because I know they practice what they preach. Mother’s Day gift anyone…
